Lunar New Year Festival
Join us 9 February 2013 for Bankstown’s Lunar New Year Festival
The event will see Saigon Place transformed into an exciting, loud and colourful arena of music and festivities.
All of the traditional elements will be there including lion dances, lucky envelopes given by the God of Good Fortune, New Year card making, New Year flower making and Chung cake making classes. Calligraphy by the Learned Scholar and fruit carving demonstrations are always popular but it is The New Year Garden that continues to delight festival goers.
Non-stop stage entertainment will reflect the diversity of our community with a range of multicultural performances scheduled to appear. Children will enjoy the magic shows, face-painting and hands-on activities.
The festival will also showcase Bankstown CBD's diverse shopping precinct with patrons spoilt for choice when it comes to restaurants, cafes, fresh food outlets and a variety of stalls selling traditional food and flowers.
Whatever your age, whatever your background, the Bankstown Lunar New Year Festival has something for everyone, so join us in Saigon Place, Bankstown City Plaza on February 9 for a fabulous family day out.
