Q. How much does it cost to be a part of this event?
Bankstown City Council is proud to present this community event. Entry, entertainment and most activities are free of charge. For those taking part in the Discovery Food Tours, there is a $5 per person per tour booking fee which is payable on the day.

Q. How do I register for the Discovery Food Tour
Bookings details for the 10:30am and 2pm tours will be available shortly on this website. Registrations for the NAIDOC Experience and 12:30pm tours and can only be made at the event from 11am until booked out.

Q. Where is the event?
The event found a new home last year, in Griffith Park and the Bankstown Arts centre, Olympic Parade, Bankstown and this will now be the annual site for Bankstown Bites.

Q. When is the event?
Bankstown Bites will be open from 10am – 4pm on Saturday 6 July 2013.
Program activities and times will be constantly updated on this website as they are confirmed

Q How do I get there?
We encourage you to use public transport to get to the event. It is a 5 minute walk from the Bankstown Train Station which is also the area of the bus interchange. There will be signs directing you from there to the event.

The Free Bankstown Shuttle service will be in operation 9:15am to 5:35pm and loops from Centro Bankstown Shopping Centre to Brandon Ave (closest stop to the event) and the train station. Parking stations are located close by on Brandon Ave, Marion St and Greenfield Parade.

Q. Is this area accessible for prams and wheelchairs?
In organising this event, we have made every effort to ensure the area is accessible.  Whilst the event space is accessible, certain shops on the Discovery Tours may not be.

Q. Is Halal and vegetarian available?
Yes, many of our local shops and stalls will be able to provide halal or vegetarian products.

Q. Who is the celebrity cook?
This year’s celebrity cook will be announced shortly – here’s a hint – she’s coming a long way to be with us!

Q. Can I do the tour without the guide?
We encourage you to visit all the great shops that are part of the tour and also those listed in the food lovers' guide which is available at the information tent. Only registered participants of the Discovery Tours will receive samples at the tour stops.

Q. Can I bring my dog?
Because of the hygiene risks of animals near food, animals (with the exception of registered guide-dogs) are not permitted at the event.

Q. Will alcohol be sold at the festival?
Alcohol will not be sold at the festival site, however, there are several bars and clubs a short distance from the event.

Participants taking part in Discovery Food Tours that offer alcoholic beverage samples must provide identification to prove they are over the age of 18.
