Australia Day 2014
Bankstown Australia Day Celebrations - Sunday 26 January 2014 1pm - 9pm
It’s on again for young and old! The venue is the same, Garrison Point, Georges Hall, but the look is new, the attractions start earlier and the concert will amaze you– just look at this year’s program:
1pm - Food court, amusement rides, petting zoo, face-painting and roving entertainment commences
4pm - Bankstown Does Motown – graduate Sabrina Mitwali heading a lineup of vocal stars from this year’s Bankstown Talent Advancement Program
4.45pm - What About Tonight – X-Factor finalists and teen favourites.
5.30pm - Michael Forever – a mind blowing, high energy dance spectacular starring Jason Jackson, Australia’s 1st and #1 Michael Jackson tribute artist.
6.15pm - Jason Singh – former Taxiride frontman performing the hits you remember and songs from his new solo album.
7.20pm - Dangerous Dancers – the best in the business ready to thrill you.
7.45pm - The Superjesus – Sarah McLeod’s edgy vocals and all the 90’s hits from this Aria award winning rock band.
9pm - Fireworks Finale sponsored by The Torch.
With an earlier start of 1pm we encourage you all to bring your picnic rugs and chairs and stake out a shady spot under the trees before taking advantage of the great new additions to the food court. The Great Australian Bite, near the beach area, will be the perfect spot for lunch and dinner!
There’s plenty for the kids to do until the concert starts at 4pm and the fun begins with a free ride in the trackless train right from the parking area at Flinders Slopes to the big event at Garrison Point. The free parking at Flinders Slopes is also within walking distance of the event.
This major community event is brought to you by Bankstown City Council. We would like to acknowledge our sponsors, The Torch, News Local - Canterbury Bankstown Express, Bankstown RSL and Bankstown Sports.
