As Chair of the Community Safety Committee, I work closely with our local Police, NSW Fire and Rescue, State Emergency Service, Neighbourhood watch, Bankstown City Council and various community groups in keeping our community safe.
After numerous complaints about illegal rubbish dumping I have established a Waste Task Force to review current waste collection services, identify dumping hot spots and look at ways to minimise illegal dumping and educate residents about the services available.
During the construction of the Southern Sydney Freight Line I have represented the residents of Birrong, Yagoona, Sefton & Chester Hill to ensure that the construction works have minimal impact on local residents and that infrastructure removed during construction was restored, such as the roundabout at Wellington and Auburn Rd and the restoration of Nugent Park which was used as a depot.
I am a strong supporter of road safety and pedestrian safety and have called on council to conduct a traffic study of the Chester Hill Town Centre to provide solutions to the congestion and pedestrian safety issues. I am currently working with Chester Hill RSL’s Directors and patrons to address the issue of speeding outside the club and lack of a safe means of crossing.
I’m currently Chair of the Jenson Oval Advisory committee and a member of the Yagoona Senior Citizens Management Committee.
