In the Bankstown local government area, thousands of people volunteer every week.
Volunteering takes many forms: the daily delivery of meals by Meals on Wheels volunteers, protecting native bushland by Bushcare volunteers, taking books to a homebound person, helping in classrroms, slicing oranges for sport, helping at the church fete, answering phones, doing a neighbours shopping and so much more!
In short, Bankstown has generous, good spirited people, who give their free time towards helping the community. We also have community-based agencies that rely on volunteers to provide essential services and programs.
