Rivers and Creeks

Welcome to Bankstown City Council's information on rivers and creeks. Here you will find lots of useful information about the state of our catchments and how Council is striving to maintain and improve them. Our campaigns and projects page also contains information about stormwater related projects administered by Council. At any one time Council may also have numerous water quality improvement projects in action.

If you would like further information on any of the web pages in this section, please contact the Sustainable Development Unit, Environment & Education Team of Council directly.

Stormwater Levy Projects

Council initiated a stormwater management service charge (stormwater levy) in July 2007.  Since then the levy has funded a number of projects that will; improve the purity of stormwater flowing into our creeks and rivers; harvest and recycle stormwater; and reduce the effect of flooding on people and properties
