Georges River Foreshore Walkway/Cycleway
Council is currently developing a series of walkways and cycleways throughout the local area and along the Georges River foreshore.
Once completed, the walkway will form part of the Bay to Mountain Cycleway Network, linking tracks from Mirambeena Regional Park near the Hume Highway in Bass Hill, along the Georges River and Salt Pan Creek all the way to the Bankstown Central Business District.
The Georges River Foreshore Walkway/Cycleway will provide a great opportunity for people to take a stroll, a walk or bike ride along a scenic path through a variety of natural environments, such as mangrove forests, river and creek foreshores, landscaped parklands and natural bushland areas. In many locations, the walkway will also link up with open-grassed recreational areas that have picnic and barbeque facilities, toilets, car parking and children's playground equipment.
Council has already constructed several sections of the walkway.
Deepwater Park to Kelso Beach Accessway
This new accessway is 1.5 kilometres long and is an easy walk on a flat path along the banks of the Georges River.
It can be used daily from sunrise to sunset from either the park or beach entrance
