Mayor of Bankstown Clr Khal Asfour is reminding the community there is still time to purchase tickets for the 2011 Mayoral Charity Dinner.
Bankstown City Aged Care will be the recipient of the proceeds raised from the 2011 Charity Dinner, with this year's event to be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Bankstown Sports Club on Friday 12 August.
"The Mayoral Charity Dinner is a fantastic opportunity for residents, local businesses and organisations to show their support for local charities that make an important contribution to our community.
"For almost 40 years, Bankstown City Aged Care has been serving the frail and aged residents of our city, and now it is our turn to give something back and show our support to the centre's management, staff and volunteers.
"With an ageing population, dementia is a growing issue for our city. I am pleased that this year we are directing proceeds from the dinner towards supporting our local aged care service to enhance existing dementia related services.
"Join me for a wonderful night of fun and entertainment, while showing your support for this worthy cause," Mayor Asfour said.
Tickets to the 2011 Mayoral Charity Dinner can be bought by contacting Council on 9707 9523. The ticket price of $85 per person will include a three course sit-down dinner and entertainment throughout the night.
The evening will also include a raffle and auction to raise additional funds.
