Bankstown City Council is challenging budding photographers to capture the beauty of our local destinations.
Mayor Khal Asfour said Bankstown has some fantastic natural locations such as the Georges River, Garrison Point and Mirambeena Regional Park.
“We’re hoping those talented photographers out there will capture that beauty for everyone to enjoy,” Mayor Asfour said.
“But the competition is not just restricted to landscapes, you may have an urban favourite.
“You may want to share what you love most about living in Bankstown such as your home, backyard, suburb or community.”
There is more than $700 worth of prizes to be won with prizes to be presented to the winning photographers at a ceremony at the Bankstown Arts Centre on Wednesday 17 October.
There are two sections in this year’s competition - Open and Junior – and entries close at close of business on Friday 31 August.
To enter and for more information visit www.bankstown.nsw.gov.au or call 9707 9999.
An exhibition of shortlisted photos will be open to the public at Bankstown Arts Centre from 3-18 October 2012.
