Bankstown City Council has thrown its support behind this year’s Bulldogs/Salvation Army’s Winter Food Drive.
Mayor Khal Asfour has today called on other businesses throughout the city to join the appeal.
“The Salvos do a great job helping people who are down on their luck but to do that, they need community assistance during its annual appeal,” Mayor Asfour said.
“Council is committed, now I’m challenging other businesses to do their bit as well.”
Mayor Asfour said Council staff will be encouraged to donate cans of food and packaged food items.
“They will be dropping off those non-perishable items at Council’s Customer Service Centre (from7-24 August),” Mayor Asfour said.
“This collection point will also be open to members of the public as well.”
Council’s Customer Service Centre is located in Civic Tower, 66-72 Rickard Road, Bankstown and open from 9am-5pm.
