Local women’s health champion and long time manager of Bankstown Women’s Health Centre (BWHC), Sue McClelland, has been honoured at a dinner tonight.
The event was held to mark the end of her 13 year management stint at BWHC.
Bankstown City Council Mayor, Councillor Khal Asfour, said Sue McClelland is one of Bankstown’s unsung heroes and will be missed by many.
“She has left an indelible mark on BWHC by helping them vastly improve their services,” Mayor Asfour said.
“Council has been privileged to work with Sue and support many of the Centre’s initiatives.”

Mayor Asfour said as a White Ribbon Day Ambassador, he particularly appreciated Sue’s exceptional campaigning to put an end to violence against women.
“On behalf of Bankstown City Council, I thank Sue for her invaluable contributions and wish her every success in her future endeavours,” Mayor Asfour said.
The $1.5 million Bankstown Women’s and Children’s Health Centre was opened in 2011 and was fully funded by Bankstown City Council.
