Bankstown City Library members can now borrow their favourite books without having to leave the comfort of home.
The new eAudio bookshelf service allows members to browse more than 400 titles, either online or at the library, and then download their favourite authors and titles direct to their computer or MP3 player.
Mayor of Bankstown Clr Tania Mihailuk said the service would benefit members in a number of ways.
“The eAudio bookshelf provides library members with a convenient new way to access and enjoy books on offer at Bankstown libraries.
“The service will greatly benefit all members of the community, in particular those who may be short on time, or have limited transport,” Mayor Mihailuk said.
Another advantage of the service is that the item will be automatically removed from a computer or MP3 player after two weeks. This means library members can relax and enjoy their book without the concern of having to return it on time.
Top authors available in the collection include John Marsden, Di Morrissey, Bryce Courtney, Tara Moss, Morris Gleitzman, Graeme Base, Paul Jennings and Garth Nix just to name a few. The collection covers everything from adult fiction and adult non-fiction right through to children's popular authors and including popular teen vampire stories.
All eAudio titles are available to download from the Bankstown Library catalogue as well as the eAudio bookshelf.
The eAudio collection is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days of the year.
Up to four digital books at any one time and an email will be sent out to members when their loan is due to expire.
