Over the years, Bankstown City Council has worked hard to become one of Sydney’s leading Council’s by setting the standard in customer service, facilities and community services.
Along the way we have picked up numerous awards, such as Best Government Contact Centre in Australia, and the Local Government and Shires Association Cultural Infrastructure Award for the Bankstown Arts Centre.
However, what is just as important as providing the best services and facilities for the present, is ensuring that we continue to lead the way into the future.
That’s where our infrastructure investment comes in.
This year alone Council will be spending over $50 million on capital works projects, including:
Our Town Centre’s are being upgraded (Punchbowl almost complete and Panania to follow) and our suburban libraries are also receiving major upgrades to bring them up to leading industry standards.
Thanks to superior economic management Council’s financial position is sound and we plan to be debt free by 2018.
All this is about preparing for the future, which is what we owe generations to come.
