To celebrate Bankstown Rich heritage, Bankstown City Library in conjunction with the Bankstown City Heritage Committee and the National Trust of Australia will be presenting the Amazing Stories exhibition to run during The National Trust Heritage Festival 2012.
The exhibition will be held between Saturday 14 April and Monday 30 April and will feature stories from Bankstown’s past events, people and places.
“The Heritage Festival is a celebration of our city’s unique heritage, and once again Council will be putting our history on display” said the Mayor of Bankstown Clr Khal Asfour.
“The exhibition is an opportunity for residents to learn more about the shared and special heritage of Bankstown.
“Heritage is about the places and stories that make our city special, so I encourage all residents to visit Bankstown Library during the Heritage Festival and celebrate our city’s rich heritage, culture and community,” Mayor Asfour said.
The theme for this year is ‘Amazing stories: Innovation & Invention’, celebrating the resourcefulness of the City of Bankstown’s residents through innovation, invention and necessity.
The free Amazing Stories display will be set up on the ground floor of Bankstown City Library.

The National Trust Heritage Festival is an annual national celebration of Australia’s unique heritage. It is an occasion for all Australians to come together and celebrate our proud Australian Heritage.
