The festive season is here yet again and as part of our effort to bring Christmas cheer to town, Bankstown City Council will be staging a spectacular Christmas Carols event on 3 December from 6:30PM in Paul Keating Park.
We're all in for a treat with an outstanding line up of musical and performing arts items, a children's concert, food stalls, free glow stix and lollies, a fireworks display and a guest appearance by Santa amongst other things.
Nationally renowned soprano and Padstow local, Julie Goodwin will be the MC and we are already expecting around 3,000 people, so the atmosphere will be fantastic.
So come along and bring your kids, loved ones and friends for a fun night out and a great chance to meet and mix with other residents of our City.
It will be a particularly memorable evening for the children.
Bankstown Canterbury Torch, Centro Bankstown, Bankstown Sports Club and the Canterbury Bankstown Express are sponsoring the event, so I thank them for their generosity.
Bankstown Local Area Command, Bankstown SES Unit, Yagoona-Greenacre Girl Guides and a number of performers and church groups have also come on board as partners in the spirit of Christmas.
I hope to see you on the night and don't forget to bring your picnic blankets and chairs.
