Bankstown Mayor Khal Asfour has issued an open invitation to the men of Bankstown to join him for a workout as part of his campaign to rid the City of violence against women.
"This is a valuable opportunity for us men to unite and show that we are determined to stamp out violence against women and have a great workout while we are at it," Mayor of Bankstown Clr Khal Asfour said.
"As men we need to set an example by making a public commitment. I will be urging participants to sign the oath register on the day swearing never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women.
"Our workout will be followed by a free BBQ breakfast in the Park giving us the chance to enjoy some social time as men," Mayor Asfour said.
The Men's Exercise Workout will be held at Paul Keating Park on November 25 from 7:00AM-8:30AM.
Those who are interested in attending should pre-register by emailing margaret.southwell@bankstown.nsw.gov.au or calling 9707-9471.
