Last Monday evening I attended the annual Summer Reading Club presentation night where I presented the Special Achiever Awards. This year's theme was 'Read on the Wild Side' and 274 young readers successfully completed the program reading a total of 17,468 books between them. Congratulations to all participants.
Last Tuesday I was pleased to attend the HSC High Achievers Awards ceremony at St Charbel's College. The ceremony recognised the excellent results 15 of their students received in the 2009 HSC and during the ceremony I had the opportunity to congratulate the students on their achievements. Thank you to Father Superior Rev Father Antoine Tarabay and College Principal Rev. Father Joseph Sleiman for their hospitality.
Last Thursday I gave birth to my third child, a baby boy that Alex and I have named Daniel. Thank you to those who have sent me their congratulations and best wishes, your kind thoughts are appreciated. I'd also like to thank Dr Matthias and all the midwives and staff at the Birthing and Maternity Wards at Bankstown Hospital for their support and assistance throughout my stay.
Thank you to Deputy Mayor Khal Asfour for representing me on Friday night at the Lunar New Yea celebrations of the ARVN Veterans Association in Australia. By all accounts it was an entertaining evening.
