What is Bushcare?
Bushcare is a volunteer program that encourages people to become involved in looking after Bankstown's bushland. As Bushcare is a community-based program, it's a wonderful opportunity to meet other residents while doing something worthwhile for the local environment. You will learn valuable skills, develop new friendships, discover more about local flora and fauna and gain a sense of satisfaction on seeing the rehabilitation of a reserve.
Coordinated by Bankstown City Council, Bushcare is an integral part of the management of the bushland in Bankstown. Together with the work carried out by Council and professional bush regenerators, volunteers make a significant contribution to the conservation and management of valuable local bushland areas.
If you are interested in getting involved in Council's Bushcare program, our Bushcare brochure PDF (1.8 Mb) may be of interest. Otherwise, read on!
