Bankstown City Council employs a Cultural Development Co-ordinator,
as part of the Community Planning and Development Team,
and works with local communities to develop opportunities for arts and cultural initiatives.
These include the promotion of:
- Local opportunities to engage in cultural projects such as festivals, exhibitions and performances
- The City's unique identity and sense of community
- Design and enhancement of public places which encourage community pride and ownership
- The cultural diversity and distinctiveness of local communities through a range of creative projects
- Conservation and protection of the natural environment and local heritage and
- administering an Arts and Culture grants program
